News from the South East

It already seems like moons ago but we all hugely enjoyed celebrating the 2020 Clinician Awards together back in January. Special thanks to Ibra, Lucy, Sharon, Cynthia, Olu, Shingi, Isaac, Marie, Sylvia and Modina who joined us on the coach for a road trip there and back and to Reuben, David, Idah, Pat, Prosper, Charity, Sintia, Ignatius B, Juliet. who joined us there. What fun we had! Congrats of course again to all the winners and I must extend this to include “us” as TEAM OF THE YEAR! It’s such an accolade and an honour!

Myrtle wasn’t able to join us on the evening but popped in to see us only last week. We are so proud to recognise her as our SE NURSE OF THE YEAR. On behalf of the team, thank you so much Myrle for all your hard work and for your very kind gesture to bring us chocolates and a card with such warm and appreciative words!

We also wanted to share with you that we interviewed a wonderful Support Worker recently called Mama Marena. Mama currently works as a member of the permanent team at Priors Court. She only had super things to say about our ambassador team there. She mentioned by name OnyerkatchiOlu, Kingsley and Shingi so well done to you ALL and thanks a million for flying our flag and for helping the young people in your care achieve small but significant things every day that allow them to lead happier and more fulfilled lives.

Many of you will know from recent communication on our SE WhatsApp Group that as part of our three-year partnership with PRIORS COURT we have been asked to support them with their PERMANENT RECRUITMENT. We are very aware that this is largely thanks to the trust and confidence that our regular ambassadors have built; you are held in such high esteem by Jenna, Ali, Lynsey and the respective House Managers that you work with. On the back of this if you know of anyone in your network of friends or family who might be interested in taking a first step into care (or indeed to continue their journey ) at this flagship school, with a very competitive salary, a thorough induction and a chance to be supported to achieve their LEVEL 3 DIPLOMA IN CHILDCARE then please do let us know. We are offering a £150 referral bonus should their application and onboarding be successful.

Finally, Eleanor who is leading our project to implement SIRENUM would like to pass on her genuine thanks to those of our SE Clinician family who have downloaded the app and who are now using it to update their availability, accept work and check in and out of their shifts. Her stand out STARS are: Wanja who came in to see us to seek out help and then helped others. Mariam who popped by on her day off to get herself up and running and Prosper who has shown real patience and perseverance in the face of any teething issues. You will each be receiving a voucher sent with the very best and warmest of wishes. Eleanor’s lovely message though is one that she would like to share here with all our willing early adopters: “Thank you so much for working with myself and the team on this. We know that changes aren’t always easy but the introduction of this system is a fantastic forward-thinking investment from us to make things easier for every single clinician in the SE family as well as for our clients going forward”.
